FLY-FISHING PATAGONIA
Southern Patagonia is an absolute must for
world-class fly-fishing. Teeming with rainbows and brookies, exquisitely pristine streams wend their way down
from the foothills of the Andes. Most are easily accessible, but the best may require a horseback ride
or a short flight.
Brookies range from 2 to 6 lbs, rainbows from 3 to 8
lbs. Rods for creeks and streams are 3 to 4 weight, for rivers and mouths
of lakes 5 to 6 weight. Length of rod varies from 8 to 9 feet. Lines are floating and
sinking tip. The season is from mid-November through mid-April, which is
spring and summer in Argentina.
A complete fly-fishing trip can be organized to your
needs and experience level, with exciting side trips like a ride on the
Old Patagonian Express. If for some reason I'm not available to arrange your
trip, please contact Steve Marugg at FinWing.com.
